Step 1: Download I717UCMD3 Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Stock Firmware and extract the zip file.
Step 2: Download Odin v3.07 and extract the file.
Step 3: Switch off the phone and put it on the Download Mode. To do this, press Volume Down + Home + Power buttons and then press Volume Up when the Warning message appears.
Step 4: Run Odin as an Administrator.
Step 5: Connect Galaxy Note to your computer via the USB cable while in the Download mode.
If the phone is connected properly, you will see that the ID: COM section turns Yellow. If not, check whether the USB drivers are installed properly in your computer.
Step 6: In Odin, click on PDA and select the “Kies_Home_I717UCMD3_I717ATTMD3.tar.md5” file that you have got after extracting the I717UCMD3 Firmware Package in Step 1.
Step 7: In the Odin, make sure that Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checkboxes are selected. If you are using a .pit file, ensure that re-partition checkbox is selected. Otherwise, leave it unchecked along with Flash Lock and LED Control checkboxes.
Step 8: Click on the Start button in Odin to begin the installation process.
Step 9: After the installation is complete, the device will restart on its own. Once you get the Samsung logo on the home screen, unplug the device from the computer.
In case your device gets stuck at booting during the installation, go to the recovery mode (switch off the device and press Volume Up + Home + Power buttons). Once you are in the Recovery mode, select the option of “Wipe Data/ Factory Reset.”
This is all you have to do, the Samsung Galaxy Note (SGH-I717) should now be running on the official I717UCMD3 Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware.
